La Trippy

I am only 18 years old but I fell in love with Pin Up at age 13. I always loved rock and roll music, and the deeper I got into the genre the more I learned about the 50's. And wow do I love the 50's ! The Pin Up look is both classy and sexy, who doesn't love them. After trying so hard to manage to do some victory rolls and finally got the hang of it I knew this was for me. I have been doing photo shoots since I was 17 and I have plenty more to come.

Adapting a style is truly stylish NEW
by: Anonymous

Unless someone is aiming to put together a look to demonstrate the historic elements of fashion for a specific period of time to be featured in a museum exhibit or academic research, there is absolutely no need to hold yourself to the standards of other ‘constructive critics’ (such as those described above). Pin up culture remains relevant because stylish women incorporate vintage-inspired elements into contemporary fashion. Evolution of a style doesn’t make modern applications ‘inaccurate’. Instead, the ability to weave historic looks into contemporary fashion as you have is what keeps pin up culture relevant. Pin up fashion clearly has roots in the mid-20th century and needs to retain certain elements to remain connected to the original period. However, the incorporation of tattoos and hair dye doesn’t diminish someone’s pin up style, rather it builds on the sort of daring attitudes and empowering edginess that makes pin up culture so deeply admired.
This same ethic applies to other periods and their influential subcultures as well. Both ‘punk rock’ and ‘hip hop’ styles have changed significantly over the past 50 years — though they retain enough of the original style and attitude that everyone can clearly identify that someone wearing those looks is a part of that subculture, and therefore also deeply inspired by the generations that came before them.

constructive critism NEW

Young lady first of all please pick a better alias. Really La Trippy? That sounds like a chola. If you aspire to be a real pinup carry yourself like a lady and be confident, dress with class and above all don't follow the fad. Theres nothing worse than seeing a beautiful young lady with her body all marked up with nasty tattoos. From your picture it appears your going for more of a Pachuca look which is ok. Whatever floats your boat. Please take this advice from a vintage diva who stays true to the classy ladies of the 1940's. No tats here, no funky colored hair. I'm a vintage purist who has been dressing this way before people thought it was cool.
