Are you giving yourself permission to love?

Are you truly allowing yourself to love the most important person in your life, who is with you through thick and thin…that person being you?

Firstly, let us define love…

Love is the appreciation for exactly what is, as is. Embracing the 'positives' and 'negatives'.

Think of the love you have for your closest family and friends. It's unconditional. No matter their flaws, you still love them to bits.

But what about yourself?

Why is it that there are so many conditions we put upon ourselves in order to say we love ourselves?

Only when I lose some extra pounds. Only when I finally get that man that will prove I'm worthy. Only when I color my hair, change my wardrobe, change my attitude…

On and on and on it goes.

Perhaps the person you are with 24/7 deserves to be cut a little bit of slack and finally appreciated for how amazing they are.

The fact that they carry you around every day. The fact that they listen to your endless whinging thoughts daily. The fact that you abuse them mentally and emotionally on a regular basis.

Self love should not even be an option.

The more you love yourself as you are, the more you will be able to love those around you. You'll create stronger relationships with yourself and with the ones closest to you.

So let's start today. Go to the mirror right now, look yourself up and down and spend at least 2-5 minutes admiring the perfection of the body, mind and soul that is always there for you. It finally deserves it.
